iOS keeps signatures in system settings and only accepts what you paste from a message. It takes one extra hop.

BEFORE YOU START

Three things
and you are ready.

01

Your signature is built

Finish it in the builder before you start here.

02

Send it to yourself

Send yourself a message carrying the signature, from a computer.

03

Open Mail on the device

The signature has to be copied from a real message.

Step by step

Five steps.
Once per person.

Nothing is installed and nothing runs in the background. You copy a signature and paste it where iOS Mail keeps it.

Step 01

Mail the signature to yourself

On a computer, copy the signature from the builder, paste it into a new message and send it to an address you can open on the phone.

Step 02

Open it on the phone

Open that message in the Mail app so the signature renders properly.

Step 03

Select and copy

Press and hold, drag the handles over the whole signature, then tap Copy.

Go to Settings → Apps → Mail → Signature.

Step 05

Paste and keep the formatting

Clear the field, paste, and if the text turns plain, shake the device once and choose Undo to bring the formatting back.

DID IT WORK?

What it should
look like.

The signature stays inside the width of the screen, images are sharp, and nothing spills sideways.

  • It pasted as plain text Shake once and tap Undo. iOS strips formatting on the first pass and restores it on undo.
  • The layout is wider than the screen The signature was built past 600px. Rebuild inside the width cap.
  • Links are hard to tap Contact rows are too tight. Increase the size setting in the builder.
CLIENT BEHAVIOUR

Narrow screens expose everything

The engine

WebKit again, but on the narrowest canvas you will ever target. Multi-column layouts collapse here first.

What we do

We cap the signature at 600px and use layouts that fall back to a single column without breaking.

QUESTIONS

Asked about
iOS Mail.

Why can I not paste from the builder directly?

iOS only keeps rich formatting when the copy comes from a rendered message.

Does this apply to the Gmail or Outlook app?

No. Those apps keep their own signature settings.

One signature for all accounts?

iOS lets you use one for all accounts or one per account.
